When you receive your Frenchie puppy, he/she will be up to date on all immunizations, dewormings, preventive treatments for coccidia and giardia, and will have had a thorough veterinary examination. This information will all be in the packet you will receive when you obtain your puppy.
We immunize with Zoetis vaccine (Pfizer) which comes highly recommended by our vet (this vaccination is also known as a DHPP or DAPP vaccination, i.e., Distemper, Andenovirus or Hepatitis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus vaccine), and we have been very happy with it. Zoetis is a modified live virus for vaccination of healthy dogs 6 weeks of age or older as an aid in preventing canine distemper caused by canine distemper (CD) virus, infectious canine hepatitis (ICH) caused by canine adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1), respiratory disease caused by canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2), canine parainfluenza caused by canine parainfluenza (CPI) virus, and canine parvoviral enteritis caused by canine parvovirus (CPV). The first vaccination that we give at 6 weeks also includes a protection against corona virus. The vaccinations at 9 and 12 weeks do not contain the corona virus protection (this is given only once), but we do give Bordetella vaccinations at 9 & 12 weeks (the DAPP vaccine and the Bordetella vaccine can actually be mixed so that a single injection is given).
