Chocolate Fawn

Chocolate fawns are gorgeous. They have coats similar to blue fawns which can range from very light tan to a dark tan, and they have the gorgeous yellow-gold/hazel eyes that are common to all chocolates. They are created by a double copy of the recessive fawn gene (Ky) and a double copy of the rare recessive chocolate gene (co). Eclair is a stunning chocolate fawn that you can see starting at about the 3:15 mark.

Chocolate fawn vs. chocolate sable

Amber and Rocky had a couple of darling boys, a chocolate fawn and a chocolate sable, which can help demonstrate the difference between them. Except for the presence of the tan points gene or the recessive black gene (in some cases), they have the same genetics on the principal loci.

Chocolate fawn vs. chocolate brindle vs. pure chocolate

These three handsome boys from Ella and Heath represent very good examples of chocolate fawns, brindles, and pure coats. They will all have the beautiful hazel/golden yellow eyes that chocoaltes are noted for.
