We have worked very hard within BlueHaven to produce the highest quality puppies possible, and over 90% of them check out great, but we do have a few that have minor to medium defects that are found during puppy checks. In most cases, these defects do not affect their pet quality. But because they do not check out perfectly, we do discount them &/or alter the guarantee, according to the type of defect, in order to protect our clients. Our vets are very thorough, and we are very transparent, so there is rarely a detectable defect with one of our puppies that is not fully disclosed.
Examples of minor defects that should have no significant impact on the health or well-being of a puppy are such things as open fontanelles, umbilical hernias, grades 1 & 2 heart murmurs, grades 1 & 2 luxating patellas, and very small dermoids. Kai has a very small dermoid in the corner of his left eye. Pax has a grade 1 luxating patella, and Mork and Mindy have grade 2 luxating patellas. None of these defects should affect their pet qualities, but we are discounting all of them since they are not perfect. They are all ready to go to their forever homes.
